“Eco Villages are the newest and most potent kind of intentional community they unite two profound truths: Human life is at its best in small, supportive, healthy communities and the only sustainable path for humanity is the recovery and refinement of traditional community life”

Dr.Robert J.Rosenthal, Professor of Philosophy, Hanover College

In other words, it is a society with a well-integrated social life combined with a lifestyle based on few resources. This specific EcoVillage in Hurdal is situated by Gjöding Farm, no more than an hour drive from Oslo.
It represents a sustainable life on the country side as an innovative solution, and an answer to the challenges of climate change, pollution, lack of resources and social problems with can accure in urban cities.

So far, there have been built 13 active houses which have been built and inhabited, 60 have been sold but not built, and there is planned for more than 175 living units.
