BAS Bergen School of Architecture proposed a master course for 5 students for the spring semester 2015: designing and building a 25 square meters minihouse for the Ecovillage in Hurdal, Norway. The leader of this ship is Arild Eriksen from Eriksen Skajaa Architects. The five students have been working on five different projects with different programs. Sauna, guest house, working space, residential and a forager house. The semester included workshops about massive wood, about building details and about space understanding. During the semester the students attended lectures in different Architecture Offices in Oslo that have dealed with mini designs and small scale buildings in the nature. This gave a strong input for the course to start. The students were free to develop both the program and the shape. This made the final projects be very different and developped in various ways. After the mid-term review the students had feedbacks from the teachers at school and from the architects dealing with the Ecovillage in Hurdal. The course has been intensively focused on model making for a better understanding of the space, the light, the circulation and the relation with the nature. The plot where the chosen project will be developped is a forest area, characterized by the verticality of the tall birches and spruces. The aim is to to start the building process the 4th of may and be done by the end of the same month. 25 days for 25 square meteres.                      You think we can make it?
